FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q&A

Can Top Coat painting match any color?

We can match any color. From any company color pallet to faded paint with no name, let us help you match the right color for any job.

Why Prime?

The success of any paint job depends on a properly prepared surface.  Some surfaces require priming others don't.  Since items being painted vary in porosity, gloss level and texture, priming can help provide an even and uniform surface for finish coats of paint.

Should I hire a painter or paint myself?

Time, effort, quality of work, expert guidance, guarantee of work, and cost are the factors to consider. If you have the time, some experience, and the desire to take up a project on your own, then painting as a DIY affair is certainly a reasonable option. It’s not super technical like electrical or plumbing work. A good painting service however can undercut the time a non-professional spends painting by more than half. Physical effort of climbing, stretching, bending tends to be under-appreciated as well. Lastly a good painting service can guide you on paint choices, types, brands, as well as offer guarantees on their for several years. A professional painter tends to produce better work, where skilled painters sometimes needn’t even rely on painting tape because their work is that precise.

Is paint provided in the proposal price?

Yes. All materials required for your project are included unless otherwise stated or additional service not included in the original estimate is later requested.

How do I know if it's alright to wait and delay a new paint job or have it done as soon as possible?

Sooner is better than later. Fresh paint not only adds beauty, cleanliness, and value to your home, but also preserves and protects the integrity of wood, plaster, and metal surfaces. Ignoring or delaying a paint job exposes materials that will eventually rot, decay, and need replacements at high costs. Thus, it's less expensive in the long run to paint as a prevention measure in order to seal valuable materials that constitute your investment, your home!

What happens during an estimate?

A: During all estimates, we’ll do a complete walkthrough through the project, and make sure we understand what you’re looking for, and also provide recommendations on how to best complete the job- including preparations, repairs, coatings, and more. After that, we’ll typically go to work on estimating the cost of the project. In some cases we can give a price on the spot but it can take 1-7 days.
